Cheryl has been a teacher since leaving University and has always found it an incredibly rewarding career and a great joy to work with children.
After spending two years working on the outskirts of Leeds, Cheryl returned to Plymouth to work at Southway Primary School. She spent 11 years there and, during this time, completed a Masters Degree in Education. She became a Music Advanced Skills Teacher and supported other primary schools in Plymouth with their music teaching.
Since 2007, Cheryl has worked at Prince Rock Primary School – first as Deputy Head and now as Head of School. Whilst she has been there, Prince Rock have been awarded three Outstanding Ofsted gradings. She has continued to support teachers in other schools, sharing her expertise in literacy, assessment and upper Key Stage Two. She is passionate about improving the teaching and learning in schools so that the children are in the best place possible to make the most of every opportunity provided for them in their future lives.
