As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and excited about what lies ahead. From our beginnings in 2016 as a small partnership of schools committed to supporting one another, we have grown into a thriving family of 18 primary schools and 12 nursery settings, serving more than 5,500 children across Plymouth and employing over 900 dedicated colleagues.

At LAT, we believe passionately in the power of education to transform lives. Everything we do is driven by our shared mission: to provide exceptional opportunities for every child, every day, regardless of their starting point or circumstance.

Our Trust is built upon a simple but powerful belief: Believe You Can, Together We Will. These words capture not only our ambition for children, but also the way we work together as colleagues, schools and communities. They reflect our commitment to collaboration, inclusion, excellence and belonging.

Over the past ten years, Learning Academies Trust has grown significantly, but our purpose has remained unchanged. While our family of schools has expanded, our success continues to be built on the strength of collaboration. Schools support one another, leaders share expertise, staff learn and develop together, and resources are used collectively to create the very best opportunities for children.

This culture of partnership has enabled us to deliver sustained school improvement across our Trust. Throughout our journey, schools have been at different stages of development and have faced a range of challenges. By working together, sharing expertise and maintaining an unwavering focus on children, we have built a strong track record of helping schools improve, flourish and serve their communities well.

We are proud that inspections have consistently recognised the strengths of our schools and the quality of education we provide. However, our ambition goes far beyond inspection outcomes. We are committed to fostering a culture of continual improvement, where every school strives to be even better tomorrow than it is today and where excellence is viewed as a journey rather than a destination.

We are equally proud of the achievements of our children. Through strong teaching, a rich and engaging curriculum, and a relentless focus on inclusion, our pupils consistently achieve strong outcomes and are well prepared for the next stage of their education. We are particularly proud of our work to ensure that disadvantaged pupils and those with additional needs are supported to thrive and succeed.

We want every child in our schools to feel safe, valued and inspired. We strive to create environments where children develop academically, socially and emotionally, leaving us with the knowledge, skills and character they need to flourish in life.

Our commitment to inclusion is fundamental. We believe every child deserves to belong, to be known and to be supported to reach their full potential. We celebrate individuality whilst ensuring that all learners receive the opportunities and support they need to succeed.

We know that great schools are built by great people.

Developing our workforce is one of our most important responsibilities. Through Plymouth Teachers and Schools Alliance (PTSA), a proud part of Learning Academies Trust, we provide high-quality professional development opportunities for teachers, leaders, teaching assistants and support staff.

PTSA delivers Initial Teacher Training, Early Years and Teaching Assistant Apprenticeships, leadership development programmes and a wide-ranging Continuing Professional Development offer that strengthens practice across our Trust and beyond. By investing in our people, we ensure that every child benefits from exceptional teaching, leadership and support.

As we enter our second decade, we remain ambitious for the future. We will continue to strengthen educational outcomes, champion inclusion, develop outstanding staff, support our communities and build a culture in which every child and every colleague can thrive.
