Karen Menis

Karen is an experienced primary head teacher and a Local Leader of Education. She has a demonstrated history of working in the primary education for 32 years in schools in the London Borough of Newham, then briefly in Paignton, Devon before moving to work within the Honicknowle community in Plymouth. She has a passion for enabling pupils to achieve their very best, not letting disadvantage be an obstacle to their success.

Karen has a Masters in Mathematical Education from King’s College London and more recently gained a Post Graduate qualification in Coaching and Mentoring. She expertise in monitoring and evaluating learning, teaching, leadership and management across the school, which includes skills in coaching, safeguarding, curriculum design, educational consulting and classroom management.

In her role as a Local Leader of Education, Karen has experience in designing and leading teacher development and training, with recent experience in developing leadership skills for emerging and system middle leaders and coaching skills. She works with the Education Development Trust as a Lead Peer Reviewer and trainer, as well as contributing to developing the national programme of virtual peer review.
