Tessa Saunders is the Headteacher of High View School in Plymouth. She joined the school community with a wealth of experience, having previously held a range of leadership roles including Assistant Headteacher and Head of School and most recently the Headteacher at Woodfield Primary & Nursery School. Tessa played a key role in driving school improvement at her previous setting, contributing to successful Ofsted inspections and leading initiatives that raised standards and aspirations for all pupils.
Tessa trained as a teacher at Marjon University and has worked across a variety of schools in Plymouth, Devon, and Torquay. She has also served as a Primary Leader in Education (PLE) and Specialist Leader in Education (SLE), supporting schools across the city through the Plymouth Teaching School, particularly in Maths and Early Years.
Passionate about equity in education, Tessa is committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. She has championed a relational approach to behaviour and wellbeing, and continues to share best practice across the Trust to support inclusive and nurturing school environments.
